aHang took part in organizing a solidarity march after Coca Cola’s latest billboard campaign turned into a political scandal in Hungary, which also resonated internationally. The billboards featured a (seemingly) gay couple and the slogan ‘Love is Love’, which sparked outrage on the side of the government media and brought about homophobic articles even involving an attack on disabled people.
The march on August 11 began at Clark’s Adam Square and ended at the Basilica, and was attended by 23 NGOs ranging from LGBT rights organizations to groups of people with disabilities. The motto of the march was:
“Let’s march together and all be in one picture! All kinds of people who are ‘only’ bound together by one thing: respect for one another.”
